SMS Terms of Service

1. Program Description
The GEM SMS notification service sends automated text messages to help applicants stay on track to complete their application process.
Messages include reminders about incomplete applications, upcoming deadlines, missing requirements, and important status updates about applicant's GEM status.
This service is exclusively available to users who have explicitly opted in.

2. Opt-Out Instructions
Users can cancel the GEM SMS service at any time. Just text "STOP" to our designated number.
After you send the SMS message "STOP", a second SMS message will be sent to confirm that you have been unsubscribed.
After this, users will no longer receive SMS messages from GEM.
If users decide to join again, they can re-enable the SMS notification flag found on their GEM user profile screen.

3. Help & Support
If you are experiencing issues with the GEM messaging service, you can reply with the keyword HELP for more assistance, or you can contact GEM directly at info@gemfellowship.org or 703-562-3646.

4. Carrier Liability
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

5. Message Frequency & Rates
As always, message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to applicants from GEM and to GEM from applicants.
You will receive periodic reminder messages based on your application status, with frequency varying based on application deadlines (typically 1-2 messages per month, increasing as deadlines approach).
Reminder messages occur only from July - November.
If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider.
